Privacy Policy
EPub Echo is an Android app for reading EPUB books. This page explains what data we collect and how we use it.
1. Who we are
"EPub Echo", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the EPub Echo project, operated by Saransh Sinha as an independent developer. If you need to contact us about this policy or your data, email contact@epubecho.qzz.io.
2. Data we collect
We collect the following data to make the app work:
- Google sign-in details: your account ID, email, name, and profile photo (if available). We do not receive your password.
- Books you upload: your EPUB files are stored so you can access them across your signed-in devices.
- Reading progress: your current reading position so you can continue on another device.
- Device/session info: basic device session data to keep your account signed in securely.
- Sign-in tokens: secure sign-in data stored on your device so you stay logged in.
- Service logs: basic technical logs to run, debug, and protect the service.
3. Data we do not collect
- No location data.
- No contacts, calendar, or photos from your device.
- No advertising identifiers.
- No behaviour tracking or third-party tracking pixels.
- No biometric data.
4. How we use your data
We use your data to let you sign in, store your books, sync your reading progress, and support your account. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
5. Storage and security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure used by EPub Echo. Data is encrypted in transit between your app and our servers.
6. Read-aloud processing
Read-aloud runs on your Android device. The app does not record your voice.
7. Third-party services
We use trusted providers for Google sign-in, hosting, storage, and email routing. We do not use ad SDKs or tracking analytics in the app.
8. How long we keep data
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you want your data deleted, email us and we will remove your account data.
9. Your rights
- Access: you can view your library and reading progress in the app.
- Correction: you can edit what the app allows. For other updates, email us.
- Deletion: email contact@epubecho.qzz.io from the address associated with your account and we will delete your account, library files, and reading state.
10. Children's privacy
EPub Echo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, email us and we will delete it.
11. International transfers
Your data may be stored or processed in countries other than the one you live in, because our cloud providers operate globally. Wherever it is stored, this policy and the security commitments above apply.
12. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of EPub Echo after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
